“Ask and You Shall Receive”. Is this a great truth or what! Beautiful reflection, thank you Dawn.
One thing I love about living in a country not my own, learning a language not my own, is the sense of surprise and wonder I always feel when we have the courage to step up with our limited language skills, and ask for what we need.
Recently, we explained to Gustavo, our gardener, builder, handyman, and all around good-guy neighbor, that we couldn’t possibly eat all the produce from our garden. After the interesting little conversation that ensued (which we thought was about the possibility of selling our excess lettuce, spinach, and Swiss chard at the local farmer’s market, but we weren’t sure), we let it go, and hoped for the best.
And the next day? This happened!
Gustavo (right) invited Polo (left) to see our garden, and take some of it to the Thursday organic-only market. The plan was for Polo to return later in the week for more, to take to the bigger farmer’s market on Saturday.
